The heritage of silk
The property comprises 3 buildings on 3 floors. The first floor was used for the barns, bread oven and cellars, while the second floor was used for accommodation. The third floor housed the silkworm farm.A well was also built to irrigate the land and water the animals. It's still in operation!
The Japanese touch
Rurality and Urban Proximity
Our Ecological Commitment
At Les Terres Aoyama, we make a point of respecting the environment and nature. As a result, the renovation preserved the main structure of the farmhouse while using high-quality organic materials for a minimalist interior that complements the 18th-century stone exterior. We favored materials such as concrete, wood and glass, accompanied by refined decoration including wood, jute, wicker and vintage handicrafts, ensuring comfort and durability.
Our kitchens are equipped with modern, environmentally-friendly appliances to minimize water and energy consumption (A/A+ rating), with a view to carbon neutrality. At a time when energy is becoming scarce and expensive, we also plan to install solar panels on our roof to ensure the energy independence of our gîtes.
The recycling of water from air conditioners, as well as the collection of rainwater, are also essential pillars of our sustainable approach.
